Installation - Visual Studio 2010 or later

You can use the ActiveX control directly in your C++ project. However, in C# or VB.Net, Visual Studio will generate a custom wrapper assembly to facilitate the use of the ActiveX API in managed code.

To get started, create a new project in C++, C#, or Visual Basic .Net. The specific steps will vary slightly depending on the project type. Note that Visual Studio may require both x86 and x64 ActiveX controls to be registered, as it might use the x86 version for the UI designer, even if the application output is x64.

Create a new project (C++, C#, or Visual Basic). In this example, we will use C# WinForms.

For .Net applications, we strongly recommend using the native .Net version of SDK instead of ActiveX. It's much more powerful and flexible. You'll be able to use native WinForms, WPF, and MAUI controls.
